I have a Ph.D. in Genetics from Texas A&M University, where I fell in love with teaching. I worked hard at it, taking extra teaching assignments while a graduate student. I earned a B.S. in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M as well.
Experience
As a lecturer at the University of Texas from 2000 to 2015, I taught courses in Introductory Biology as well as Genetics. There I earned various teaching awards from both faculty and students, including the College of Natural Sciences Teaching Excellence Award and the Senate of College Councils' Professor of the Semester. I have conducted thousands of one-on-one and group sessions helping students to break through individual obstacles hindering them. Sometimes those obstacles are about the class material.
