Experience
I learned Spanish as a second language and know how challenging it can be. My theory is that a tutor must be calm and patient in order to get results. I have experience teaching both young students and older ones. These experiences help me present information to students in many different ways. I know that younger children struggle to keep their attention on one thing for long, so I use fun activities such as games and age-appropriate materials to present the information. I am a Spanish professor at Austin Community College. For the last fifteen years, I have taught Spanish to middle school and college students, so I have plenty of tutoring experience. I am comfortable teaching children and adults. I have also designed my own language learning website that teaches Spanish grammar covered in Spanish I and II. I am professional, while still keeping a relaxed demeanor with my students. I feel these are some of my most useful attributes in terms of being a great teacher or tutor.
