Private tutor in Cedar Park, TX
Education
University of Texas- Austin - BS, Elementary Education/Mathematics
Experience
I attended the University of Texas, Austin. While there, I acquired my bachelor's degree of science in elementary education and mathematics. For the last 30 years I have been working in the Texas public school district. I have taught mathematics to students in 1st grade up through the 8th grade. Following my 30 years as a professional educator, I have retired from a traditional classroom setting. Now that I am living the retired life, I can be found substituting for grades Pre-K up through 8th. I also have experience tutoring in a private setting with a variety of different age groups. While I have a love of all subjects, I am most energetic about the subjects of math, reading, and writing, particularly at an elementary level. I also enjoy preparing students for their state tests. I have confidence in my students and trust that all of them can become masters in any given subject they're in the process of learning. As long as they have the proper learning experiences to fit their individual modes, they can definitely succeed and excel. I use many tools while teaching, including hand-on activities, written work, and technology. When I am not teaching or tutoring, I am usually busy sewing. I also love creating new crafts, reading, and taking long walks.
