I received my BS in Elementary Education and Mathematics from the University of Texas in Austin.
Experience
After retiring from teaching for 28 years in the public education system, I have been substituting to stay current on the student needs. I have performed after school tutoring sessions for the school districts to assist students needing extra support in different areas as well as test preparation and summer tutoring for students needing that summer boost. I have attended many district led writing strategies sessions as well as writer led sessions for the purpose of writing instruction. In 2004 one of my second grade student had her narrative published in "Rising Star", a publication of student writings choosen from all oover the state by a team from the College of Education at Texas State University.
